"Playing piano is a physical and mental need for me - I am always creating music, and when I hear something in my head, I need to get it out and my piano is helping me do that, combining notes until I find the perfect melody"
Jean-Philippe RIOPY, born in 1983, discovered his vocation as a pianist from an early age. Throughout an atypical and difficult youth, he practiced his instrument in a self-taught, and compulsive way. When RIOPY turned 18, he went into exile in London where he did everything possible to live from his music. Following encounters, such as Chris Martin, lead singer of the band Coldplay, he began to compose trailers for Hollywood films such as The Danish Girl, Shape of water, Mr. Turner, etc and international advertising campaigns with the likes of Samsung, Armani, Ikea, Peugeot, etc.
He became a Young Steinway Artist and recorded his compositions on three albums : RIOPY in 2O18, Tree of light in 2O19, and Bliss in 2O21. His music imbued by great virtuosity, singular rhythm, and total freedom of expression has been identified by a receptive and loyal following.
